☺Green Tips for Back-to-School Shopping – It’s easy to make green choices with back to school shopping:
-      Consider reusing last year’s supplies, backpack, lunchbox etc.
-      Buy paper, binders, folders and other supplies with at least 30% recycled content.
-      Set your child up with waste-free lunch supplies: a reusable lunchbox, reusable lunch containers, cloth napkin and reusable water bottle.

EMail attachment tip from the Webmaster

People often ask me about attachments they receive and cannot open. One common attachment problem is with the 2007 versions of Microsoft Word and Excel. By default in Office 2007 files are saved in a new format that previous versions of Office can't read. You can recognize them by the .docx extension, like resume.docx (note the x on the end). If you have Office 2007 (Word or Excel) you can save files as 97-2003 format and then users of previous versions can open and edit them.

If you receive a *.docx or *.xlsx file as an attachment you are not out of luck. You can go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx which is the Microsoft Download Center. On the top right you will find Product Families - Click on the triangle on the right and choose Office. There you can download the Compatibility Pack, which will allow you to open 2007 format files (as read only). If you have Office 2007 you can also download an addin to create PDF files from Office 2007 files - very useful!
